Why should I choose cloud hosting over traditional web hosting? It seems like the cost of cloud computing is always more. And, do I really get more for my money? What are some unique advantages that cloud hosting offers to me?

  • Rather than having all data stored on a single stand alone server, cloud hosting employs a method by which data is stored on multiple servers, called a cluster. The cluster server gives more reliability and reduces the chance of down time from a single server failure. For this reason, cloud hosting is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to stay online with their website more.

So much cheaper to host a site on the cloud than any other method. You also won't have the fuss of owning a server of your own or trying to maintain it. There is less downtime as the staff of the cloud hosting company will manage your hosting issues for you and that means trouble shooting or fixing it if your site goes down due to a server issue. You don't always get that with shared hosting.

Well there are several edges in cloud hosting like traditional shared hosting is like a computer with multiple users access it at same time obviously the performance and security is always at risk. Whereas cloud hosting is like your personal computer or specify space allocate to you. In fact there are several cloud providers who ease end users by providing several features on single click like: SSL, Cloning, Scaling, Backup & Restore, Domain Mapping with multiple data center across the world.

Cloud Hosting:- As Everyone one knows cloud is based on three types of services. Infrastructure as a services, platform as a services and software as a services. These services are working together. In cloud hosting all available resources are integrated providing high shared resource availability and extremely flexible compare to any other hosting solutions. Available resources include bandwidth CPU usage and memory utilization.

Traditional hosting:- In traditional or regular hosting server your site and all of the necessary files are stored in single physical server. Most of the dedicated/shared server comes with equip certain hardware specification. This type of hosting is generally more expensive. A dedicated server comes with very high performance. As they can be configured to your desirable need.

    Hi :shy:

Cloud hosting is the latest form of hosting. Basically Cloud hosting means that a vast network of physical servers are connected and a virtual space is created where servers could be hosted called "The Cloud". And yes, it comes with a few advantages. The cost is a bit higher than other previous forms of hosting but here's why it's worth your money:

Cloud hosting is a highly scalable solution for a server. Since the servers are hosted on a large virtual space you can increase capacity whenever you need to. Cloud hosting is also much more reliable because if one physical machine goes offline, your server could easily be migrated to another. Software update would be automatic too: you don't have to worry about security updates and other concerns about maintaining your server. They would all be automated.

There are many benefits to switching to the Cloud. Hope this helped.

In cloud hosting, your data is hosted on multiple location, so even if one server goes down, you'll have others to cover it up. In traditional hosting, you are keeping all your eggs in the same basket. It is difficult to safeguard it. Better to use different baskets than using just one.
    Cheers to your choice.

Some of the primary reasons that people are getting into Cloud hosting are load balancing and reduced usage fees.

First, a look at cost: with traditional hosting, you pay a set amount per month, which is a bonus because it's easy to budget a set amount. A number of Cloud hosting companies offer a utilities-style pricing, where you pay for the amount that you actually use bandwidth, applications, storage, processing, etc., rather than a set fee. This "metered" system, although less predictable for budgeting, can result in a lower bill.

Second, a look at load balancing: with traditional hosting, you have signed on to use the resources of one or a small set of either shared or dedicated servers owned by the provider. Say you have a website and traffic to that website spikes one day: because you have purchased only so much bandwidth, processing power, and storage, the performativity of your website decreases, possibly discouraging repeat visits. With cloud computing, resources are pooled and balanced over many servers, which means that a cloud provider can direct and redirect the system's various physical and virtual resources toward the cloud users according to their individual needs-similar in functioning to a public utility like a power company.

The distribution of resources is elastic and dynamic, ensuring that when a user requires a lot of resources, they are assigned the resources they need. This happens automatically in some cases and in others rapidly. If, for example, you are using Cloud hosting for your website from which you sell holiday cards, the "peak load" demand on your website's bandwidth and applications will occur around the holidays. With the on-demand, scalable, and elastic nature of the cloud network, bandwidth and other necessary resources will be directed to your website as usage increases.

  • In cloud based hosting, basically you should pay only for what you use and all depend on your budget.

In cloud environment , you can easily scale up and down the resources with out causing any down times for your website. For this reson will get the option to plan high stability for your application.

The bill should be made for, what amount of resource you have scaled up and for what time duration. When usage goes up and you will be billed accordingly.

The billing method will be varied according for different cloud products/resources and providers.

In traditional hosting method, you should only pay for what you purchased.
If you want to add more hardware resource like RAM,CPU etc then you need to upgrade the resource on time to time, there will be downtime s during the upgrade. The bill should be constant.
